Since I’ve graduated from SJSU and moved on instantly into the Big Kid World, many people are asking me questions about post-undergrad life and how it feels and how/what I’m doing. I’m away from Facebook a lot and make rare comments or statuses, but you can always find me on Twitter. Here are some questions that people have been asking me: 

1. How does it feel to be an SJSU alum?

It feels so surreal, still. I cannot believe it’s been 4.5 years and I’m so glad that I had an easy, yet sometimes struggling college life. Everyone is back at school and it feels interesting that I don’t have to complain and go to classes and do homework - it’s pretty nice. 

2. Where are you working?

I’m still an intern at Loopt, but now, I can work everyday for as many hours as I want. However, I don’t want to be an intern forever. I feel that 3 internships in the past two years have helped me greatly, but I’m ready to have that full-time job with a paying salary and everything. I want a full-time job to finally begin my working career. Also, having money, I can spend on anything I want. 

3. Where do you live now?

I live in Mountain View with John. We are literally less than 10 feet from the border of Sunnyvale, so it’s funny and cool at the same time. We live in a one bedroom apartment on El Camino Real. Right? Who the hell actually lives on that long and winding street? We do, apparently.  Our apartment is less than a 4 minute drive to my internship and it’s less than 20 minutes to Palo Alto for John - convenience is incredibly bliss. 

4. ZOMG YOU LIVE WITH A BOYFRIEND, THAT’S A BIG STEP!!!!  HOW DO YOU FEEL AND WHAT’S IT LIKE?!?!?!

Apparently, a lot of people don’t live with their boyfriends/girlfriends immediately after college and who have only been dating less than a year. We took one of the biggest leaps of our lives, and we couldn’t be any happier. If you personally ask me how did it happen, I’ll tell you. But on tumblr, I’ll keep this private. Yes, it’s one of the biggest steps of my life and I never thought living with a boyfriend was going to happen. I had the idea in my mind, but it was always skewed - I would be the main provider. However, it’s not the case with me and John. 

It was tough in the beginning for me because I already had a standard of living. I’m incredibly neat and organized and if anything goes off balance or not according to plan, I’d get upset and show it to you. We both had to make adjustments on how to live and what are the boundaries. Primarily, the problem was smoking weed all the time. We both smoke a lot separately and together, but I always worried about the smell. But, we got that fixed and covered too. Also, he tries to pick up his mess, but I end up doing it before he realizes. 

I used to not like seeing John all the time. Walking all the way to his apartment in San Jose and not really have the time and space to talk and breathe. But now, living with him is wonderful. I enjoy seeing him all the time and we both literally confide in each other. If one of us needs help, the other will be there. I do love living with him. It’s ridiculous - but fun. 

5. What do you do now since you guys are living together?

We’ve created a system (well, me) of how we spend our weekends and weekdays. During the week, we both go to work and I would come back earlier than him. I go to the gym for an hour and come back and make dinner for both of us. Or sometimes, he makes dinner. Lately, it’s been me doing it, but I’m learning so much when it comes to cooking and I have the confidence to whip up something new. It’s nice. Hence, APARTMENT GIRLFRIEND.
